Puppy Contract
This summary reflects the key terms of the Muletown Labradors puppy contract. The full signed contract will be provided as part of your application paperwork.
Breeder Responsibilities
The breeder guarantees puppies are healthy and current on vaccinations, and provides documented health certifications signed off by a licensed veterinarian.
The breeder offers first right of refusal if the buyer cannot keep the puppy within the first 12 months.
Buyer Responsibilities
Purchasers must provide quality food, shelter, exercise, training, and veterinary care including annual exams and heartworm prevention.
Buyers are required to maintain documentation of all veterinary records.
Registration & Breeding Restrictions
For full AKC registration, buyers cannot breed until the dog reaches 24 months and passes OFA testing for hips, elbows, and eyes. Required genetic testing includes EIC, CNM, and PRA screening.
Breeding with dilute genes or non-Labrador breeds violates the contract and results in a $5,000 penalty plus mandatory spay/neuter.
Health Guarantee
The breeder warrants puppies are free from serious disease on the recommended testing list, but does not guarantee OFA passing scores.
Buyers must have a veterinarian examine the puppy within 3 days of pickup. If health issues are confirmed, full refunds are available upon surrendering the puppy and registration papers.
There are no guarantees implied or intended, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
